Judgment This Day, May 05, 2026 This matter came on for consideration. It is the order, judgment and decree of this court that This matter comes before the Court upon the Court's own motion. Upon review of the case, the Court notes that the citation was issued to the defendant on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at which time the defendant was given a mandatory court date of Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at 9:00 a.m.
On April 23, 2026, the Findlay Police Department informed the Court that the defendant would require the assistance of a sign language interpreter. To comply with the ADA and the Court's Language Access Plan, the Court arranged for a qualified interpreter to be present on the mandatory court date.
On April 29, 2026, at 9:00 a.m., the Court was prepared to hear the case, and the interpreter was present. The defendant failed to appear and had not filed any motion or made any contact with the Court at that time. The defendant appeared later at 11:22 a.m. and filed a motion requesting a new court date, which the magistrate granted.
On May 5, 2026, the Court received an invoice from Resolute Interpreting in the amount of $253.95.
Based on the foregoing timeline and facts, the Court finds that the defendant was served with a mandatory court date and failed to appear as ordered. The defendant did not contact the Court prior to the hearing, nor was the motion for continuance filed in a timely manner.
It is therefore ORDERED that the interpreter costs incurred on April 29, 2026, in the amount of $253.95, shall be assessed to the defendant.
