Judgment This Day, December 09, 2025 This matter came on for consideration. It is the order, judgment and decree of this court that This matter came before the Court for review.
The Defendant appeared for a pre-trial conference and met with the Prosecutor. During that meeting, the Prosecutor recommended that the Defendant participate in the Court’s Traffic Safety Program and additionally complete the Ohio BMV’s Distracted Driving Course.
Upon further review, the Defendant is charged with Prohibited Use of an Electronic Device. While the Court believes the Prosecutor’s recommendation was well-intentioned, this particular offense does not qualify for the Court’s Traffic Safety Program. However, the Defendant is eligible to complete the free Ohio BMV Distracted Driving Course, available at https://www.drivertraining.ohio.gov.
To allow the Defendant time to complete the course and provide proof of completion to the Prosecutor, this matter will be scheduled for a second pre-trial. At that time, the parties may further discuss a resolution. ALAN D HACKENBERG JUDGE |
