Journal This Day, April 09, 2020 This matter came on for hearing. It is the order, judgment and decree of this court that This matter came before the Court the 7th day of April, 2020 for a pre-trial conference. The Court has been advised by Assistant Law Director, Marshall W. Finelli, that the defendant failed to appear for her hearing. Upon a review of the docket in this case, the Court notes the defendant is unrepresented by counsel in this matter and that she personally signed the Assignment Notice informing her of the date and time for her pre-trial hearing. As a result of the defendant's failure to appear, the Court directs the matter be rescheduled for a pre-trial conference. Because the defendant is charged with an offense of violence, her participation at the pre-trial conference is required even with the current state of emergency issued by the Governor and the "Stay at Home" order. If there are legitimate health concerns, the defendant may those matters to the Court's attention by way of written motion. The defendant should give serious consideration to obtaining counsel to assist her in this matter. If she is unable to afford the services of an attorney, she should contact the Hancock County Public Defender for assistance. Any further failures to appear may result in the issuance of an arrest warrant. Speedy trial time is tolled pursuant to R.C. 2945.72(D) & (H).
