Judgment This Day, September 22, 2020 This matter came on for hearing. It is the order, judgment and decree of this court that This matter comes before the Court today upon the Courts own motion. On 8/04/2020, the defendant was found to be in contempt of court for failing to complete the community in this case as ordered. The defendant was given an opportunity to purge the contempt by completing the remaining hours by 10/09/2020 or report to the Hancock County Justice Center on that date.
The Court has reviewed the reports from the community service location and has determined that it is very unlikely that the defendant will complete the remaining hours prior to the jail commitment date. With the current public health emergency due to the COVID-19 pandemic it is hereby ordered that the jail commitment for 10/09/2020 be recalled. This matter shall be scheduled for a hearing to reconsider the sentence imposed and the defendant is required to appear unless they have completed all their community service hours prior to the hearing.
